Hands-on, heart-first care
With about 26 years in the field, Twenika has worked as a med tech across first and second shifts. She says her favorite part of being part of the Brookstone family is the hands-on time with residents. Passing out medications is part of the job, but connecting with residents is what she loves most.
“You always got me”
Twenika remembers helping a resident who sometimes has trouble standing. Afterward, the resident told her, “You always got me.” Moments like that, residents being thankful for the littlest things, are what mean the most to her.
“You pick something that you love. It’s not going to feel as if you’re working when those days get rough and tough.”

Twenika describes the Greensboro team, from dietary to clinical, as patient, friendly and warm. When something comes up, everyone pitches in to make it right for the resident or a fellow staff member. For her, Brookstone Terrace is a home away from home, and residents feel like a second family.
