At Brookstone Terrace of Clemmons, connections happen naturally, just like the one between Michael and Ida. Two residents with very different life journeys, brought together through everyday moments and shared conversations.

Meet Ida

Ida was born in North Carolina in 1927 and grew up on a farm with chickens, cows and a garden full of vegetables. She remembers never going to bed hungry or cold. She married, raised four children and then worked 32 years at Western Electric, which later became part of AT&T. She also loved to dance: square dancing, flat-footing and the two-step.

Meet Michael

Michael was born outside Chicago and grew up in Memphis. He studied at Notre Dame and earned a degree in aerospace engineering, then went to work for NASA calculating orbits, figuring out things like how much fuel and supplies a mission would need to make it home again.

What they enjoy together

These days, Michael and Ida talk, watch TV, play games and play bingo, a shared favorite. Ida says the community is very clean and the employees are friendly, and of all the places she visited, this is the one she would choose.
