At Brookstone Terrace, faith and fellowship are an important part of creating meaningful moments for our residents. In this video, Todd Johnson, Chaplain with Wren Hospice, shares what makes his weekly visits to our Simpsonville, Woodruff and Chanticleer communities so special.
Meet Chaplain Todd Johnson
Todd comes together with our staff and residents each week for Bible study, devotionals and worship. He describes it as a wonderful spirit of praise, and says he gets just as much out of these gatherings as the residents do.
Comfort crosses and lifted hands
Todd’s favorite part is leading the group in praise and worship during devotion time. He passes out small comfort crosses, and residents hold them, lift their hands and join in the worship. Seeing residents engage and participate is what makes each visit so rewarding.

Meeting residents where they are
For many of our residents, going to church every Sunday was a lifelong rhythm. When getting to a service is no longer easy, these weekly gatherings bring worship to them, so they can keep taking part in the traditions they cherish and love.
“They grew up in an era where they went to church every Sunday, and not being able to do so, this gives them an opportunity to participate in what they cherish and what they love.”
